On the other side of a sea of lava, eyes flashed like rubies made of glowing magma. It was a Con Nys dragon, a breed that could adapt to any environment. Its entire body was coated with a brilliant metal that shone crimson against the lava.Thousands of voices inside Saturion’s head, souls of all those he’d devoured over his many lifetimes, for once, screamed the same command:
